Learn with Us

We’re excited to share our Learning Exchange lineup: our annual, year-long and evolving learning program on philanthropy. Comprised of foundational learning sessions for fundholders new to Toronto Foundation, as well as signature events with ever-changing content, there’s learning content for everyone—including folks who don’t have a fund with us, but care about what’s happening in philanthropy. Those public events are highlighted in purple and marked as public. We can’t wait to learn alongside you!

Join us for a frank and informative discussion with experts in the field about how to best consider your fund as part of your estate plans. This event is designed for fundholders who are looking for support in navigating the complexities of their philanthropic legacy. Nicola Hives, Toronto Foundation's director, growth strategy, will be joined by estate planning experts.

We will be join by Promod Sharma, an insurance professional specializing in advanced strategies for estate and philanthropic planning, he is also a Toronto Foundation fundholder. Promod will share guidance for folks considering life and health insurance to support their philanthropic legacy. We will also be joined by Nadia Bechai, a lawyer who specializes in trusts and estates. Nadia will share tips for how your will can be a tool to communicate your values and support the causes you are care about.

Together they will to offer the steps for planning your philanthropic legacy and answer your questions.

We believe magic happens when community leaders and donors unite -- and it often starts with a conversation. Quick Connects is one of our most popular events and this year we are partnering with Toronto Aboriginal Support Services Council (TASSC) to connect TASSC member and some non- member Indigenous leaders with Toronto Foundation fundholders. Working across issue areas such as housing, employment, arts and mental health, this event is designed to bring together our community organization partners and donors for conversation and reciprocal learning.

This is a private, in-person event open only to invited guests. Spaces are limited!
